New Content and Art!

And so much spam…

Apparently, my last post hit every prime keyword for spambots. Nearly 40 comments, and every single one was junk—just like the messages in my Contact Me form. One day I’ll get real comments and heartfelt messages… but today is not that day.

Fresh Artwork

The biggest update: I received new Blood and Magic artwork from the amazing Stevie Nix! This time, it’s period accurate for the start of my books.

The Witch of Castleton begins in October 1778, during the American Revolution and carries through to 1780. Its follow-up, The Vampire of Castleton, overlaps but eventually pushes forward toward the American Civil War.

Most of my previous commissions from Stevie leaned more modern—perfect for when the series expands into later eras and becomes a touch more “urban fantasy.” But for now, I wanted visuals that capture the Revolutionary War setting, and she absolutely delivered.

Seriously, look at this beautiful artwork. I love her style so much! I’m honored that she has agreed to give my characters life. She is so worth the money. 🖤

Website Updates

I’ve made some big adjustments on my homepage:

  • Added a book blurb for The Witch of Castleton.
  • Created a gallery of Stevie’s artwork (still fighting with the WordPress plugin to properly display the thumbnails).
  • Added a new “Recently Updated” section so you can easily see what’s fresh.

I’m still learning WordPress, and it is not as intuitive as I’d hoped. It often feels like it contradicts what I thought I knew about HTML and other web languages… but then again, HTML 2.0 was still new-ish when I graduated college.

The Witch of Castleton

The most significant update: the full summary for The Witch of Castleton is now live!

I’m also putting together brief, spoiler-free character bios. Witch has a small cast, focusing primarily on Ariana and Frederick, but Vampire widens the circle and introduces more of the ensemble. Before you meet everyone else, though, you’ll need to know these two.

Querying Update

Still no luck with queries yet. Out of my latest batch, one came back as a rejection, and the rest are still pending. I know I’ll find the right agent eventually—I’ve sent out fewer than two dozen so far, so I’ve barely scratched the surface.

When I do find that wonderful person, though? Then my cast of witches, vampires, and poor humans caught in between becomes all of your problems, too.
