I finally made the decision

And you know what? I like it!

In my last update, I was wavering on splitting my debut novel into a duology. I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a solid move! I’m really glad I opted for this route. It allowed me to expand a few details of the world while also allowing the focus of each new novel to be tightened, and I can’t believe it took me eight years to finally think of this! And once I figured out the actual transitions, it took far fewer words to modify the tale than I expected. With this, I’ve also resumed querying. I think I will try to set a goal of at least one query every-other-day for maybe the next month or so—perhaps giving myself a break on weekends—and re-evaluate how I feel after that.

Maybe this process will also inspire me to blog here a little more. 🤔

Anyway, I have been meaning to update more frequently, but I’m still unsure what to fill my site with. Maybe just some general updates and musings about my life until I have a solid literary adventure to log. I do still plan to add a bit about my main characters and the debut duology, but that won’t happen until mid-September at the earliest. I’m currently trying to finish up a cosplay for my partner and redo parts for mine, and they’re scheduled to be worn at Colossalcon East in a few weeks. I’ll be one of the craftsmanship judges for the cosplay contest. Then I have a lot autumn garden prep to do, and at that point, I’ll try to update a little more content on here. Maybe by then I’ll start having visitors to my site that aren’t spam bots, too!

My Shampoo from Ranma 1/2 costume at Colossalcon Prime this year. I’m making Mousse for my partner and making some tweaks to Shampoo. Notably, the red top. I was not happy with how it turned out.
